The ceremony was attended by Deputy Prime Minister Ho Quoc Dung, Minister of Education and Training Hoang Minh Son, President of Vietnam National University, Hanoi (VNU) Bui The Duy, Chairman of the Board of Directors of HTI Group Nguyen Sy Thanh, along with representatives of ministries, government agencies, local authorities, businesses, faculty members, and lecturers.

As part of the event, Vietnam National University, Hanoi (VNU) inaugurated three facilities dedicated to research, education, and science and technology development in Hoa Lac: the Semiconductor Packaging and Testing Laboratory, the VNU–HTI UAV Testing Facility, and the Centralized Practical Training Center of the University of Engineering and Technology.

The VNU–HTI UAV Testing Facility was established through a collaboration between VNU, the Information Technology Institute (ITI), and HTI Group. Located in Zone VNC03 within the VNU Urban Area in Hoa Lac, the facility is notably the first officially licensed UAV testing site in Hanoi. It is designed to support research, manufacturing, integration, flight testing, and evaluation of UAV equipment and solutions within the applicable legal framework and in alignment with practical requirements.

The facility’s operation will enable scientists, students, and businesses to directly test technologies, evaluate operational capabilities, identify technical issues, and refine products before their practical deployment. It also serves as infrastructure connecting different stages of UAV development, from research and design to prototyping and field testing.

Through this collaborative model, VNU and the Information Technology Institute contribute their strengths in scientific research, expert networks, and human resource training, while HTI Group and its member company, HTI UAS, provide investment resources, technological capabilities, and product development experience.

The facility is expected to create favorable conditions for joint research projects, promote technology transfer, and support human resource development in the UAV sector. It will also provide an environment where students, engineers, and research teams can engage with real-world technical requirements and participate in the research, development, and refinement of UAV products.

As Vietnam implements Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW on breakthroughs in science and technology development, innovation, and national digital transformation, the establishment of UAV research and testing infrastructure in Hoa Lac represents a practical step toward strengthening the connection between research and manufacturing.

The facility is expected to contribute to enhancing research capabilities and technological self-reliance, promoting the development of UAV products researched, designed, and manufactured in Vietnam, progressively meeting domestic application needs while paving the way for international markets.
